I have a New Year’s wish for YOU, my friends. And because I love you, there’s also a GIVEAWAY at the end of this little post. 🙂
It’s the end of the year, so naturally, as an introverted melancholic, I’ve been taking some time to gaze over my shoulder at the past 12 months.
Although 2016 has been a beautiful year on so many levels, I’m tempted to look first at all the ways I’ve failed in one of my biggest resolutions: to be a better mother.
I first joined the illustrious ranks of Mom in 2009, and with each new year and each new baby, I learn again the priceless lesson that I will never, ever have all my ducks in a row.
But, there’s another truth I’m slowly coming to terms with: I don’t have to have all my ducks in a row.
The fact is, a good mom doesn’t have a mess-free life. She isn’t Pinterest-perfect. She might not know what she’s doing at any given moment, or even where her car keys are.
And that’s ok.
It’s more than ok. In fact, the longer I’m a mama, the more convinced I am that our dear Lord allows all the messes and the frustrations and the tears and the lost car keys (and even the lost sanity, ha!) for the sake of humbling, softening, and stretching our stony hearts. Jesus knows what is the best way to help us learn to love big and love well.
And so, in 2017, I pray that you’ll let Him work in you.
I pray that you’ll remember how much He loves you. How He sees you striving for holiness in the middle of the daily grind, (fake)smiling as you wipe another snotty face and feed another ravenous mouth and get up yet again in the middle of the night to soothe a crying baby.
I pray that you won’t be too hard on yourself. Instead, I pray that you’ll be able to look at your life with a sense of humor, and see the beautiful big picture as well as the irritating, when-will-this-be-over moments.
And my very fervent prayer is that 2017 will be a year of great flourishing for you, especially in your vocation as a mother.
Now let me humbly suggest that one way to begin that flourishing is by joining me at the Inspired Mom Summit.

One final thought.
There is not One Best Way to be a mom. But our goal is to become the very best version of the mamas that we were created to be. And often, we need some help getting there (at least I know I do).
I love this Summit because it offers two things that I find invaluable in my quest to become a good mom:
Knowledge — tools of the trade to keep in my back pocket, like tried and true wisdom from other moms who’ve not only been there, but who are also expert professionals in their niche. And people who get it — women who know that marriage and motherhood are hard, and who want to help me succeed.
Will you join me in starting 2017 with the Inspired Mom Summit? Maybe this will be the year that I’ll get my squirrels to simmer down a little. 😉
G i v e a w a y !
We want to make sure that mamas everywhere know about the Summit! So I would love for you to share all the details with your peeps on social media!!! Just for sharing, you’ll be entered into a pretty sweet giveaway –>
